HandleKrypto is owned and operated by Bitgate Services AS, organization number 922 385 734 and developed by BitGate AS, organization number 918 574 433. Bitgate Services AS will be referred to as “HandleKrypto”, “us”, or “we” in this policy.
Your privacy is important for us, and in this privacy policy we describe how we collect and use your personal data. The privacy policy is based on the Norwegian law, where HandleKrypto is located. We will process your personal information at any time in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
When we talk about the Money Laundering Act in this privacy policy, we explain what, how, and why we store such information in regards to Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti Money Laundering (AML). Make sure you read our Anti Money Laundering Policy for more information.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
User Account
On initial login with bank ID, an account is automatically registered. When you complete the login, you give access with bank ID to personal data about you. The following information will be stored about you:
- Social security number
- Your bank ID identification number
- First name, last name, and full name
- Officially registered residential address
- Email Address
- Phone
HandleKrypto is required to store personal identification number, name and place of residence. We must know who our customers are (KYC) and identify them in accordance with the Money Laundering Act. We identify you with bank ID and save bank ID identification number and social security number as proof of your identity
If any of the information is missing, such as email and phone number, we will manually request that information before you can place orders on the website. We need this information in order to contact you when needed, for example, when requesting order information.
Know Your Customer Form
When establishing a customer relationship, we are also required by The Money Laundering Act to know the purpose of our relationship. Therefor we ask you questions such as these with multiple answer options:
- What are you going to use the service for?
- Are you going to order for yourself or on behalf of others?
- What will the average monthly volume be?
- How often do you plan to use the service?
- How long do you plan to use the service?
- What is the source of your funds?
We are required by The Money Laundering Act to store this information so we know what your purpose of using the website is, as well to be able to check if your orders and behavior does not match the answered questions. In that case we may ask you to update any question or ask additional questions, or even extra information through email or phone. All extra information we ask will be stored for the same regulatory reasons.
Order
HandleKrypto is required to store personal data for all purchases and sales both in order to comply with the accounting and anti-money laundering regulations. Furthermore, your IP address is also stored for security purposes, as a tool to look for suspicious transactions under the Money Laundering Act.
Contact form
When you contact HandleKrypto using the contact form, the information we request is stored in the contact form. Your question will let us respond to it as soon as we see it and the contact information is required to answer to your question. This information is also stored by email.
Chat Support
If you contact HandleKrypto using chat on the website, we will save chat log / history, along with your username, IP address, browser, and which web page you are on or navigate to. This gives us a better opportunity to help the customer in different issues and to answer faster. Furthermore, the information is used to analyze how our customer service workers handle customer support and how to improve the support experience you receive from us.

Personal information is only shared if there is a valid basis for it. In case of serious suspicion of criminal activity or upon request, we are required to provide information to “økokrim”. Furthermore, we may provide information to external services after your permission.
In order to be able to use your data efficiently and to offer you the best services, it is sometimes necessary to send information to third parties. These third parties have separate and independent privacy policies. HandleKrypto is not responsible for the content and activities of the related services. Nevertheless, we want to protect the integrity of the services we provide and gladly welcome feedback in these areas.
How long we retain your data
Your personal information is stored for as long as it is necessary for the purpose or as long as it is required by law. Bookkeeping, Storage, Money Laundering and reporting obligations affect how long we need to store your information.
The site administrators can view and edit this information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have made orders, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your personal information
Information security is taken seriously. We ensure that your personal information is secure by technical and other measures. We take additional measures to prevent data modifcation, loss or abuse.
Only those who need your personal information will be able to access them. The information is treated confidentially in all cases.
Our routines for data leaks
If a data leak occurs, we are required to inform you about it. We will provide such information as soon as possible after we solve the problem that caused the leakage and consider it safe to publish it. This is to prevent further leakage. In all cases, you will receive information as soon as possible from us about a leak.
Which third parties we receive information from
As mentioned earlier, we use third parties to retrieve information about you:
- Personal information from bank ID
- Information about payment methods from payment provider
What automatic decisions are taken based on user information.
You are automatically granted access to orders when we have received sufficient information about you and your identity is verified as not suspicious in regards to the Money Laundering Act.
If the system detects suspicious transactions or behavior of the user, the user will temporarily lose access to the service. Until we have manually contacted you and disproved the suspicion, where we will restore your access again. We are also required to do so by law.
Changes of policy
The privacy policy can be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the service, or by other legal and operational reasons. This privacy policy applies from 2020-05-08.
